For those of you who did not know, the broke United States Post Office is splurging on a four day. $2 million ’conference’ in San Francisco, California, in an effort to figure out how the federal agency is losing $25 million a day. Pssh!

“The Postal Service loses $25 million each day. When they are broke, why are they spending $2.2 million on a four-day conference in California? When Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars are propping up the Postal Service and they will have to sacrifice and not receive mail one day a week, it’s outrageous that the U.S. Postal Service is throwing this money at a short conference for their executives.”-Rep. Dennis Ross (R-FL)

It just shows you how inept the management of the USPS is and the idiocracy of the democracy! Spend money you don’t have. Oh, if we fall short, tax the people; higher price services with lower quality results.
The philosophy of these individual, but as long as nobody screams bloody murder, just keep taxing.
In CA, the city of Atwater work on that assumption. Not only did the majority of voters approve higher taxes in November, they approved knowing the tax will never be repealed even after the term is up, which is ten years. So, the city management, assuming the books were balanced, discovered the city was, in fact, in the red. As Gomer would say, “surprise, surprise, surprise!” Then the threats, “we have to cut services” OR lets see if we can push through a tax increase and have a special election! Any takers on the outcome! Now in Atwater, CA we are honored to offer to the gods of stupidity another 1/2% on everything we buy to be “protected and served with integrity.” But the silver lining is its only for ten years. I personally will move from this shithole and will buy anything I need in another municipality.

Why don’t the postal workers include this in their TV commercial? You know the one about how it’s not fair to end Saturday deliveries or how efficient the post office is.

    No it’s not, if the government doesn’t subsidize and support the postal service and you say they support themselves, who owns the postal service? How can the government go into their funds and steal their money as you suggest? Actually the Postal Service is a federal agency and supported by the goovernment and expected to bring in enough money from it’s revenues to pay for it’s expenses, but, it never does …Part of what is bankrupting the postal service? The outrageous pensions the employees civil servants as they are called, get when they retire

      Here in my small town, a postal worker was able to retire with 85% of his pay, because of the years he worked for them. They are grossly overpaid to begin with, and when they can retire at 85% of their $56,000.00 per year salary, with 35 years service “we the public” cannot afford it! And, ask yourself this, “what does a postal clerk, have to do, in a small post office, in a town of 4900 people do, that is remotely worth $56,000.00 per year. Selling stamps, and weighing packages,? Give me a break! That job is worth about $10.00 bucks an hour, …..tops!

Fisrt off not a nickle of tax payer money went to thhis retreat. Secondly and this is what’s most important is WHY the post office is in the straits it’s in. They are legally mandated by a former all rehuglican congress to pay their pension fund forward 75 years. No other Federal, state, or private business entity does this or is forced to do so although many private companies should be required something similar so raiders ike Bain Capital can’t bankrupt a company out of business, raid the pension fund as profit and then dump on the American taxpayer via The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) which is taxpayer funded. KNow the facts you ignorant blowhards, Christ and you morons have the gall to talk about low information voters. Go sit in the corner with your dunce caps on idiots.

Check out their pension plan – there’s a lot of pork there, billions of dollars needed to keep it up and running, and above those puny plans by private companies.

Well, it seems most of ya’ll think that the USPS gets Federal money, well you are wrong, all revenue the Postal Service operates with is generated from the sale of postage. The government does however tell them how to operate the business, but doesn’t give them one cent. When gas goes up a penny a gallon it cost the Postal Service 11 million a day in fuel, after all it is the largest fleet in the world. The biggest problem with the Postal Service is the mail manages it, they don’t manage the mail.

If you think the work is easy, come on out and give it a try, dogs like to bite, people love to cut you off trying to get their check, babies crying wandering the streets, complaints of wet mail in boxes that are not maintained in a downpour and you still have to get back on time. This is what new carriers have to look forward to for $16 dollars an hour with no benefits, and no 40 hour guarantee, in the South that ain’t too bad but doubt you could live on that in big cities.

I truly believe that Kennedy changed his mind on many issues after he knew the truth and that was why he was shot. But its been proven time and time again that our government doesn’t have the intelligence to run a pay toilet business let alone any large business like the US of A. Not all but many are in Washington because of nothing more than personality not knowledge. By cutting 50% out of the Washington paid staff and lobbyists we could be out of debt soon but no one wants to listen to the truth.
