Borrowing a typically Republican talking point, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee charged that the news media is working against its priorities, namely defending Obamacare and electing more Democratic House members.

“After an onslaught of Republican attacks on Obamacare, the national media thinks it’s time for us to throw in the towel,” a Friday fundraising email read.

“They’re wrong,” the DCCC wrote of the media. “President Obama won’t stop working until every American has access to quality, affordable healthcare — but he needs our support to back him up ASAP.”

Republicans have long argued that the establishment news outlets tilt left, but now, under pressure for the disastrous Obamacare rollout, Democrats are stealing that line to rally support among donors.

The fundraising email also affirmed the Democrats’ priority of regaining the majority in the House of Representatives. “The only way President Obama can make real progress in his second term is with a Democratic House,” read the email.
