Suspected gunman, Esteban Santiago, arrived at the Fort Lauderdale airport Friday afternoon, retrieved a firearm from his checked baggage, and opened fire, killing five people and injuring eight others.

A report in the Washington Times suggests that relatives of the gunman “told reporters that the 26-year-old had recently been treated for mental health issues.”
