Every day seems to present us with examples of why one should not do drugs and speak in public. Or, at least, why “celebrities” should stay in school and not buy their own press…
In a world where endless streams of leftist dogma are promulgated by mindless, self-absorbed, lotus-eaters in the entertainment world, where to begin? Only last week we had “The Oprah” disgorging America’s omnipresent racism, as perceived by her, to the BBC for dissemination to the world; while flogging her latest movie venture, of course. One would think Oprah’s own, discredited attempt at playing the race card would have taught her a lesson but, no. She wants things that way and that’s enough reality for her. Hot Air shared her race-baiting cant, after pointing out that Oprah is a faithful supporter of The Lyin’ King: “There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs… in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s (Obama) African American. There’s no question about that and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it.” Yes, Oprah the MENSA candidate said “everybody.” Never mind that that The Lyin’ King has cultivated enough failure to dishonor a universe. “Everybody” hates him solely because he is black. To paraphrase Tina Turner, “what’s truth got to do with it?”
But that was last week’s news; this week brings entirely fresh candidates, auditioning for the job of humiliating themselves on The Lyin’ King’s behalf. Harvey Weinstein elected to share his political savvy with the world on CNN’s Piers Morgan program over the weekend. His choice of venue demonstrates the value of his wisdom. Film Executive Weinstein is extraordinarily forgiving of The Imperial President’s…ah…let’s call them “shortcomings.” According to Weasel Zippers: “Weinstein, a big donor to the president, downplayed the problems with Obamacare’s implementation and the…promise that Americans could keep their insurance plans, saying that Obama ‘made a mistake — he’s human’.” Whatever he is, one can be certain that the millions of Americans stripped of their health insurance by The Lyin’ King’s arrogance would disagree with the assessment that “he’s human.” And isn’t it interesting that The Lyin’ King’s deliberate deceit, caught on camera on double-digit occasions, is dismissed by Weinstein as having made “a mistake?”
Countless deceptions, corruptions and failures, too numerous to itemize, just don’t count in the liberal consciousness. Only what liberals want to believe matters. Weinstein doubled down on his wishful thinking: “This is the only country in the world where we don’t have a health-care…” Clearly, he means a single payer health care. He’s even wrong about that but, like the Wizard of Oz, we are supposed to ignore that falsehood “behind the curtain.” Gallup has just released a poll: 56% of Americans now believe it is not the role of the federal government to provide health insurance. Perhaps someone should inform Weinstein that Obamacare, at its most deluded, would be health coverage. It is not health care. Try getting health care when there are no providers, Mr. Weinstein. You can thank your Fearless Leader should that become a reality.
Even some of the dimmest personalities, like Kanye West (“I’m not gonna mention him no more, I’m past that…”), Whoopi Goldberg (“I don’t understand how a 4-year-old can do a website and upload videos … and these guys can’t do jack…”)
and Matt Damon (“There are a lot of things that I really question, you know: the legality of the drone strikes, and these NSA revelations…He’s got some explaining to do, particularly for a constitutional law professor.”) are finding reasons to desert The Lyin’ King’s sinking ship. But most will not. They are incapable of open-mindedness; their self-image would crumble if their modish views were ripped from them. Because they sometimes perform roles that leftists script for them, many feel qualified to foist their parroted, political tenets on America, regardless of whether they, themselves, practice what they preach or not. Only the views they subscribe to are qualified to sway public opinion. When opposing viewpoints, such as those of the stars of Duck Dynasty, influence an election (Congressman Vance McAllister, R-LA) however, all bets are off; “personalities” should not, according to leftist glitterati, be permitted to sway elections. Clearly, hypocrisy is not a concept they are familiar with.
Weinstein shared this parting shot with Piers Morgan: “Obama’s not embarrassing — the country’s embarrassing.” The first part of his statement is, predictably, dead wrong; the president is lethally embarrassing. But as long as Americans continue to trust the willfully ignorant, whether from Hollywood or D.C., those that can’t even formulate ideas of their own, the second part of that statement may be true.
