The climate change debate is a way for President Barack Obama to assume “dictatorial-like powers” that will allow the Democratic Party to “accomplish whatever it is they want to accomplish,” conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said.
“The whole point of this is to gin up the same kind of fear they hope to gin up in the single woman/mother category and minorities,” Limbaugh said on his radio show Tuesday. “It also gives Obama an issue. There isn’t a single issue that the Democrats can run for re-election on in the upcoming midterms. Not a single one. Everything they’ve done has blown up on them.”
So by pushing climate change, “the left has attempted to corral people to agree with them and sweep them up into this political movement that’s called climate change,” Limbaugh said.
“It used to be called global warming, and then when the warming stopped they had to change the term. The main technique that they’ve used is fear combined with guilt, and it has worked well.”
The message, Limbaugh said, is that capitalism is destructive to the planet, and people are destroying the environment with greenhouse gases from energy produced from fossil fuels.
