On Wednesday the Gallup Poll reported that our Imperial President’s approval rating was at a 9 month low; 45%. Why the popularity needle has not yet hit zero is certainly a question worth asking but on Tuesday evening Joe Biden demonstrated, yet again, why The Lyin’ King’s numbers are a moot point. Biden, as Charlatan-In-Chief, might be as bad as what is already in place.

Joe Biden, effusively praising then-Senator-Anointed, Democrat presidential candidate, for being “clean and articulate,” was selected as his vice presidential running mate because of his reputedly extensive experience with foreign policy and his political wisdom. These qualities were supposed to offset the presidential candidate’s absolute lack of qualification fro the presidency. It is an understatement to say that the last four and a half years have proven these assumptions to be categorically false. Not only is Biden incompetent in the arena of foreign affairs but he is a hopeless bungler domestically as well. He has exhibited an astonishing lack of familiarity with the language. He has even swiped Neil Kinnock’s biography as his own.

On Tuesday evening Joe Biden was performing the prime function of today’s Democrat. It had nothing to do with safeguarding America; Biden was campaigning. Democrats, in the current regime, have not left campaign and fund-raising mode since the 2008 elections. The objective is an all-out attempt to keep the Senate and to take back the House. So, Tuesday, Biden attended a campaign event for Massachusetts Democrat Senate hopeful, Ed Markey. Markey, evidently bored with his barnacle-like squat in Congress (since 1976), and relying on his decades-old name recognition is grabbing for John Kerry’s vacated Senatorial seat.

Gabriel Gomez, a former Navy SEAL and a newcomer to politics, is Markey’s Republican opponent. He is virtually unknown. Evidence suggests that Biden’s help with Markey wasn’t very helpful.  Gomez moved up in the polls on Wednesday. Biden said so many things that were dim-witted at best and false at worst that he may have broken his own record for foot-in-pie hole-itis during one appearance:

  • “…the last thing in the world we need now is someone who will go down to the United States Senate and support Ted Cruz, support the new senator from Kentucky… or the old senator from Kentucky.” One supposes that it is too much to ask of his brain to remember the names but, “the new Senator” is Rand Paul and the “old Senator would be Mitch McConnell.
  • Biden, stunned that two freshman Senators (Rand Paul and Ted Cruz) were exerting so much power, pleaded with the audience to keep others of their ilk out of the Senate.
  • Biden complained that with The Lyin’ King out of the hunt, “blacks and Hispanics won’t automatically turn out to vote.”
  • Introducing Al Gore, Biden stated that the Supreme Court made an incorrect decision: “This man was elected president of the United States of America…No, no, no. He was elected president of the United States of America. But for the good of the nation, when the bad decision in my view was made, he did the right thing for the nation…Al, you set an example for this country that is going to live as long as recorded history, about the man who won by a decision that I think constitutional scholars now and in the future will conclude was an ill fated decision…”

You get the idea.

Performances like this one, repeated over and over, suggest that Biden was kept around for a second stint because Uncle Joe is The Lyin’ King’s insurance against…um…political displacement. Nothing could ever make The Lyin’ King look good. But Biden comes close.
