Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) said Tuesday he “would love to bring [gun control] back up,” but he does not have the votes to pass any new laws.

Reid made these remarks the day after 20-year-old Richard Shoop stole a rifle and fired six shots into the ceiling at Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in New Jersey.

According to The Washington Times, Reid said, “‘Shooting of the week’ is what we have now. The problem is, in the last week we’ve had more than one.” Reid was referencing the November 1st murder of a TSA agent at LAX as the first of the two shootings.
