As everyone knows by now, Robert Gates, former Secretary of Defense from 2009-2011, has published a devastating expose of the Imperial President’s reign due for release later this month.  Mr. Gates’ career spanned 26 years, serving every President (with the exception of “Slick Willy” Clinton) since Richard Nixon.  Yet Mr. Gates felt that The Lyin’ King and his court, more than any other, deserved to have their flaws exposed specifically with respect to foreign policy and national security.  The book, advanced to selected targets, shredded The Imperial President, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Curiously, the White House chose to defend only Joe Biden.

The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward offered commentary about both The Lyin’ King and Hillary Clinton from Gates’ book “Duty”: “… by early 2010 (Gates) had concluded the president “doesn’t believe in his own strategy, and doesn’t consider the war to be his. For him, it’s all about getting out.” Bob Woodward added his own thoughts: “Why would Obama put 30,000 additional troops in harm’s way to carry out an effort he believed would fail? The most plausible explanation is that he wanted to appear muscular by signaling support for the Afghanistan war — which Democrats had long cast as the ‘good war,’ vis-a-vis Iraq. “About Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State: “Gates offers a catalogue of various meetings…including an exchange between Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton that he calls ‘remarkable.’ He writes: “Hillary told the president that her opposition to the [2007] surge in Iraq had been political because she was facing him in the Iowa primary ..?.?..”

Damning as these vignettes are, why a White House defense of Joe Biden alone? True, Gates excoriates Biden not only for his performance as vice president but for his record dating back over 40 years. McClatchy DC reminds us: “President Barack Obama did not have much foreign policy experience when he chose Biden, the former longtime chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as his running mate in 2008…” This only goes to show how the blind lead the blind. McClatchy DC offered up one of Rick Santorum’s more memorable quotes from 2012: ‘…taking an opinion counter to Biden would ensure accuracy 100 percent of the time.’” Mr. Gates’ book offers countless examples of why this is so.  So why did the White House choose Biden as the rock on whom to take their stand?

McClatchy DC reported White House  Press Secretary Jay Carney’s statement: “As a senator and as a vice president, Joe Biden has been one of the leading statesmen of his time and he has been an excellent counselor and adviser to the president for the past five years…Biden has played a ‘key role’ in every major national security and foreign policy debate in the White House, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why? Because he says so? Yeah, sure…and I’m the Queen of England.

This “defense” by The White House is significant for two reasons. It is another, insipid whitewash of one of the regime’s reprobates. Carney said what he said but, unlike Gates, he offers no evidence to support his statement; proof is irrelevant. The regime expects everyone to believe them because they say so. Lies, like everything else that has transpired during the The Lyin’ King’s reign. Of greater significance, however, is why Biden? This question has escaped the press but, of all of the miscreants in Gates’ book, a shield, weak though it may be, has been thrown up to protect the singularly incompetent Joe Biden. Hillary, markedly, has been hung out to dry regardless of whether it’s her “turn” at the Democrat Party’s helm .

It signals White House support of Biden’s candidacy for president in 2016.
