The White House and outside groups are initiating a media blitz to rally supporters of the president to help push the policy proposals he will outline in his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
According to The Associated Press, both the White House and its allies outside of the administration are launching a fundraising campaign, social media effort and public outreach focused on the economy as well as climate change, gun control, immigration reform and the budget deficit. Obama plans to focus on those topics in his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
During the State of the Union, the White House plans to include graphics and data in its live stream of Obama’s speech. Administration officials also plan to host question-and-answer sessions after Obama’s speech on climate change and the economy, according to the report.
